i4e App Reviews

Superb !

This is by far one of the best roleplaying support app available. The export and import features work as a charm, it is concise, fairly complete, tracks what needs to be tracked, and fits on one page. The only suggestions I have is that it would be nice to add a simple dice roller, not necessarily something fancy, to avoid switching to another app to roll the dices. Also, an Italian mode (rotate screen) would be nice. But if you play Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition, you have to use this app, well worth it!

Excellent surprise!

This app is totally awesome but need a french localisation. I play with a huge bunch of buddies but a lot of them does not speak nor read a word in english! And its kind of difficult to find everything i need when im not used to play in original language version... Ill be glad to give a hand if you dont mind.

Very helpful!

A very helpful app for 4e D&D. Helps keep track of power uses and offers quick access to character information and modifiers. My only complaint is that when putting in information for a power theres no option for "none" for certain things, such as damage. This can cause confusion for certain powers such as the Warlords Furious Smash at will power. However with a simple patch this could be fixed. Overall a great app though, and I recommend it.

Not Bad

One of the features I really like is the ability to track which powers have been used, as well as combat damage and healing. The "rest" feature resets everything for you very conveniently. The app allows for a great deal of customization, but it would be nice if the descriptions were filled in for you. One feature Id really like to see in future updates is magic items, and tracking their usage as well. Overall, I think its a great app!

This app is what I have been looking for

I have been looking for such an app since the 4th edition came out. It is the only app on the store that can act as a complete replacement for your character sheet and power cards. I only wish there was a dice roller included so I could avoid switching between 2 apps all the time. There is still a lot of room for improvement but the developer is on the right track.

Shows promise, but isnt ready.

This app has some solid concepts and functionality, but it ultimately feels unfinished. It messes up math, and sometimes variables just bug-out altogether, such as weapon bonuses. I wish I had waited and saved my money.

A nice app but too many glitches

Overall a very nice app that has almost everything your character sheet would have. I would just suggest a quick patch do so my dex raises my ac and better copying of .dnd4e files

Needs work

Not ready yet but shows potential

Not perfect but very helpful

My last character died and I wanted to create a new one using all the available rules so I finally subscribed to DDI. Wanting to get rid of clutter on the table I decided to pick up this app. While it is not perfect, it is very useful and has many of features that replaces the paper on the table. It doesnt upload descriptions from DDI (due to copyrights I believe), but it doesnt take too long to review everything for accuracy and type in the descriptions. Being able to identify used powers, healing surges, damage taken, etc and knowing whether you used them in the last session is great. And you can reset used powers with a simple short rest or extended rest button. The only big downside that I see is for changing a character (new equipment, leveling up, etc). You have to manually do it in the i4e software because if you use DDI to make changes and import the character in you will lose all of the information that you had to manually type and will have to review everything again to make sure that it is accurate.

Char

Not a bad tool. Levelling is all manual, and so, frustrating and cumbersome. Treatment of weapons as implements is not there, so it means duplicating the weapon and stats for Attacks/Damage are not correct. Treasure does not allow for residuum. Best use between games to track state of powers. Not a bad reference in-game.

Very good

But need to verified the data imported. Error in stat AC,F,W,R

Great idea, poorly implemented

Might become great, too glitchy right now to recommend. When it is twice the work of doing things manually you have a ways to go.

Great app, very handy

The only complaint is the common one of power descriptions. Hes made it easy to get by this. I think WOC should just license him for free!

Thanks!

This app has helped me get into dnd, whereas before it all seemed far too complicated. Keepup the great work!

Not Bad

To be honest, I am new to the world of D&D, so I have little experience with managing character sheets be the paper or on my ipad, period. I used i4e for the first time yesterday, though, and for the most part was satisfied. I would like to see easier ways to edit or add power cards, preferable with less hunting through nested menus and options. It would be so much easier to touch the applicable section of the card to edit it. I also hope to see better management of items and equipment - manually entering AC adjustments should be something left to the pen and paper world. There are many other minor quibbles like this, but dont let that stop you from buying this program - it has great potential, and with a little encouragement and a bit of our money from purchasing this, I have good hopes to see this become the near perfect tool. Now if there was only some way to link it with the Wizards Character Builder and everything would be awesome.

Highly recommended

I believe this is a very good app for new players and old players alike. It is simple, to the point, and very helpful. I have been playing DnD for quite some time now, and have always been looking for the best way to get an electronic character sheet, I have tried the character builder, but I dislike the scrolling, I have tried PDFs, but it has the same problem as the chracter builder. To my knowledge, this is the best electronic character sheet available. However I have 2 concerns. When characters are imported from the character builder, their powers are not imported with them (or I have done something wrong) as I really dont want to have to type out each power description, I would like to see that fixed. I would also like to be given the chance to organize everything by at-will, encounter, daily, because I am used to this format (from the books) and would like to see everything returned to that format, or at least an option to return to that format. Although everything may be organized into the type of action, I cannot get used to this format... Two small concerns in an otherwise incredible app, I would recommend this to anyone. I currently use it on my iTouch, however hope to soon be using it on an iPad. Keep up the good work, it is a very good app. Any word about adding a dice rolling code into it, or is everything being kept strictly character sheet?

Needs more polish

Could have been better... not having power descriptions or even key words in the power text hurt this app imo. Very cool layout though and it looks really good

Great app

It does what it should do. If some of the other far lesser D&D character sheet apps have taught me anything, its that automation is a bad thing. Maybe it takes a bit of work and time to set up a character for the first time, but once you do, you know can be guaranteed that all your numbers and powers are calculated correctly (assuming you know what youre doing). There are a few things that could be added, such as the ability to choose how your feats and powers are organized, but this is definitely bar-none the best character sheet app out there right now.

Update not work

The app blackscreens and exits when I go onto it. Is there going to be an update to fix it? I paid $4.99+tax for this app I hope there is one because if not that is such a waste of money.

Incredible customer support

After having some trouble with an earlier version of the app crashing, the developer personally tracked me down via the WotC online forums to inform me of how to fix the problem. His solution worked, and Ive been much happier with the app since.
